To back up thunderbird go to Documents and Settings.
This is the tricky part. You have to click on each user folder till you find the application data folder.
For instance the Application data folder is located in New User.HPZD8000. This varies from machine to machine.
Go to Application data.
Now Select the Thunderbird folder.
Now: copy Profiles folder to desired location rename the folder "Thunderbird Profile Back Up".
